Roy is a founding leader and Companion of the Northumbria Community, a past President of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, a writer, popular speaker, spiritual director, retreat leader and leadership mentor. He lives with his wife in their beloved Northumbria and still travels fairly extensively encouraging people with his Northumbrian Collective associates to Listen Well, Think Deeply and Live Authentically. His book ‘Forming Communities of Hope in The Great Unravelling’ was written with his friend, the Canadian missiologist, Alan Roxburgh, with whom he has established The Commons Cooperative.
Roy loves being a husband, father and grandfather and when not spending time with family and friends or working, he plays a lot of sport, is a pretty good veteran football, tennis and pickleball player and is a member of a successful curling team.
