Debbie Thrower is the founder and pioneer of Anna Chaplaincy for Older People – offering spiritual care for people in their later years. There is an expanding the network of some 170 Anna Chaplains and their equivalents working ecumenically in communities throughout the UK. Debbie, a former broadcaster, and her team at BRF, open people’s eyes to the contribution made by older people and outline ways to support people in later life; to combat loneliness and isolation; and provide fresh ideas and impetus to people living with dementia and those responsible for their care. Anna Chaplaincy represents an exciting expansion of principally lay (but also ordained) ministry across the denominations.
