The Samuel Chadwick Lecture 2024

Our annual Samuel Chadwick Lecture will take place on Wednesday 16 October 2024. The theme will be The Marks of Methodism: Mission Potency for Today, and this year the lecture can be attended onsite at Cliff College or online via Zoom.

The keynote speaker for this event will be Rev Dr Martyn Atkins, former Principal of Cliff College and former President of the British Methodist Conference. Rev Dr Atkins will be speaking on the distinctive marks of Methodism and how they can shape our understanding and expression of mission and evangelism in the world today. The formal response will be from Rev Dr George Bailey, lecturer at Cliff College and co-director of the Samuel Chadwick Research Centre.

Timetable for the day

10:45am - those attending onsite arrive and gather for coffee.

11:10am - Zoom call opens for those attending online.

11:15am - the annual Samuel Chadwick lecture, delivered by Rev Dr Martyn Atkins.

12pm - formal response from Rev Dr George Bailey.

12:20pm - opportunity for Q&A.

12:45pm - event ends and Zoom call closes. Those attending onsite are welcome to stay for a complimentary lunch.
