Postgraduate Certificate with a focus on Intergenerational Ministry and Mission

Cliff College has long been a leader in teaching on children’s, youth, family and intergenerational mission and ministry. This new Postgraduate Certificate is a year-long, part-time course that will develop your understanding and practice of intergenerational church and mission.

As a student on this programme, you’ll learn more about the biblical and theological foundations of intergenerational ministry and about intergenerational community in today’s world. You'll explore what discipleship, mission and worship look like in intergenerational churches and communities. You’ll also have the opportunity to critically evaluate your own missional practice in light of all that you’ve learned in your studies. You’ll graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Theology and Mission awarded by the University of Manchester and with the knowledge and practical skills you need to serve God better in the ministry to which you’ve been called.

Postgraduate study at Cliff College was stimulating, challenging, practical and everything I hoped I would explore during ministerial training but never did.

Unit information

Students on this Postgraduate Certificate will take three units over 12 months:

  • Intergenerational Ministry and Mission (30 Sept-4 Oct 2024)
  • Missional Theology (20-24 January 2025)
  • Missional Theology in Practice

All three units can be accessed online from anywhere in the world using our virtual learning platform. You can choose to travel to Cliff College’s campus in Derbyshire for a week of lectures for the first two units, or you can participate in our hybrid classroom via video call.

The third unit, Missional Theology in Practice, includes a period of learning in context and subsequent critical reflection on the practice of intergenerational mission and ministry in that context. This is available throughout the year and is taken at an agreed-upon time by you and the unit lead.
