About the programme
Children's Ministry Essentials is a ten-module programme that offers a comprehensive introduction to mission and ministry with children whatever context you work in. The ten modules can be taken together as the full Children's Ministry Essentials programme, or as standalone modules. The learning is self-paced, which means you can engage with the content at a time that suits you and work through it at your own speed.
Modules are made up of three sections: insights, where we explore theories and research on the module theme; practice and skills, where we look at how this applies to mission and ministry with children; and personal development, where we look at how this impacts you as a practitioner and as a disciple. There are some preparatory resources to work through at the beginning of each module, and you will have opportunities to consolidate your learning through written reflections and creative activities. Each module also includes opening and closing devotions as we dedicate all that we do to God.
There is no assessment or grading for this learning, but everyone who completes the module and/or programme will received a certificate of completion.
I'm delighted that Cliff College has enabled the development of the new Children's Ministry Essentials programmeon our engaging online learning platform, TheologyX. The programme is a fantastic training resource and will have a lasting impact as children encounter the love of Jesus through those who are trained by Children's Ministry Essentials.
Rev Dr Andrew Stobart, Vice-Principal of Cliff College
Modules cost £10 each, and the whole programme costs £80. You can work through the content by yourself, or with others from your church or workplace if you prefer. If you have any questions about the Children's Ministry Essentials programme, please contact enquiries@cliffcollege.ac.uk.
The Children's Ministry Network is a network of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and exists to bring together all those with national responsibility for work with children in denominations and Christian agencies.
The Children’s Ministry Network for UK and Ireland is delighted to launch this new training resource to support those working among children in churches. The programme provides up-to-date and informative training in an interactive and accessible way, and we hope it will enable many leaders to feel more confident and equipped in working in local churches.
