Coaching for Christian Leaders
Coaching skills offer a powerful way to equip others and multiply your leadership! The short course Coaching for Christian Leaders is a week-long course designed to stretch, inform, inspire and offer practical ways forward. Designed by Dr. Keith Webb of Creative Results Management, the course has been used to train church planters all around the world.
This short course is designed to develop coaching skills and will be especially useful for anyone who is coaching leaders. The skills you will learn will also help in everyday conversations and in the way that you work with teams or in meetings. This short course focuses on pioneer church planters and fresh expressions leaders, so the course is deliberately biased towards that setting. It will also be useful for anyone in Christian leadership.
During the week at Cliff College, there is time for personal reflection and social space. Teaching will be delivered via lectures, seminars, and workshops with practical as well as theoretical applications. The short course aims to enable new learning, provide the student with skills and resources for both individual and church applications, and is extremely practical.
Course content
The course will focus on:
- skilled listening
- the COACH model as an approach to coaching conversations
- the role of the Holy Spirit in coaching
- asking powerful questions from different angles
- coaching to develop the whole leader
- creating good action steps and generating feedback.
The aim of the teaching is to equip participants to empower leaders to fulfill their God-given calling. Participants gain a certificate of completion at the end of the week.

This course will next run from 24-28 March 2025 at Cliff College in Derbyshire.
The cost of £325 includes all teaching materials, tutorial support and meals throughout your stay. Overnight accommodation and breakfast from Monday to Friday costs £220, with accommodation for Sunday night available at an additional cost; details of this will be sent to you via your course confirmation email.
Bookings are made through the Cliff College online shop - payment, either in full or a deposit of £65, can be made by card.
